People like that are very vexing. I understand the joys in annoying people, but I dislike when somebody is annoying me. I know it is hypocritical, but knowledge sharing should not be treated as an avenue for annoying people. It makes it difficult to trust answers - even if J did tell us the truth, would we believe it?
If we can determine the relations between the constants of my magic and that of the magic here, then we might be able to determine the amount of energy used and the relation to the House's abduction methods. I also wonder where the energy comes from - I could not teleport an entire space as it would require too much of my energy. Could it be a multi-stage teleportation process? Someone else talked about time magic - perhaps the location is frozen in time and then teleported in pieces.
I understand. I will not touch your items and I will leave your suite as I found it.
[ Rei's request is reasonable enough and while Linhardt does like exploring, he also likes not being kicked out of the room with the good bed and he has some self-control. Besides, he hates when people touch his things too. He leaves them like that for a reason... ]
Deliberately withholding in what manner? Sexually withholding, or is it possible to withhold one's essence from you even if you're engaging in erotic activities? Could I block you from sensing my essence?
No, I get it. I also find some enjoyment in it sometimes. But people like J are an entirely different kind of irritating. Maybe it is because of the deliberate withholding of information. Maybe it's the way he reminds me of someone back home equally as obnoxious. Either way, we're not going to learn anything from him.
So yeah, let's start there. Between the two of us I'm sure we can get a working theory going at the very least, especially since you already practice teleportation magic. I do have a separate theory on where this place gets its energy. I'd rather run it by you in person. [he is a deeply paranoid person, if linhardt can't tell by now.]
Thanks.
The latter. It's very possible to withhold one's essence in one's bodily fluids. I haven't experienced this with anyone not from Klein, but I don't see why you couldn't, especially with your expertise in magic.
We're not going to learn anything from him purposefully or directly. We can still draw conclusions from his actions. I do agree that his words are going to be useless - I believe, upon thinking about it, that what I find most vexing is that he is one of those people who knows things and thinks that keeping said knowledge to himself makes him special. People like him are why people like us are not taken at face value and why people assume we are also playing their insipid social games.
I would be happy to show you how warp magic works if there are theories you want to test. And I would like to hear your theory. I understand that sometimes theories only make sense if you talk them out with another person - writing adds an additional layer of complexity and abstraction.
[ Linhardt would swear until his dying day that he does not participate in 'insipid social games', but he does. And one such way he is doing so is that if these messages are being read, they are now meeting in person due to logistic preferences, not due to a desire to conspire. The deniability is plausible. ]
I see. I'd like to practice that: Withholding information about my essence. Do you know if it would be possible to fake essence information? For example, could I convince you I was Olivine? Assuming blindfolding and steps were taken to ensure that other senses wouldn't give away the deception, of course.
What else is there?! Only science
